Dasylirion longissimum - Mexican Grass Tree
$79.99
Dasylirion Longisimum is a striking architectural plant perfect for full sun and a dry location. This evergreen plant is somewhat similar in appearance to an Agave / Yucca. The grass-like leaves explode from the attractive scarred trunk in a green tuft. Dasylirion is slow growing but this architectural plant with its scarred trunk is worth it. They are low-maintenance plants that look stunning in a container or planted in very well-drained soil. Originating from the Chihuahuan desert and capable of handling extremes to -10c in terms of cold temperature, plus a lot hotter in the summer months, they are very tough and hardy. They don't however like winter wet. Adding a large amount of grit when planting will help or if in the ground allowed, erect a small shelter to keep off excess rain in winter. Well-drained soil is key to success with this plant
